"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." -Thomas Jefferson
Meet Nick Latham
On June 16, 2009, I was laid off. At this time I had two choices. One, go file to collect unemployment and mope that the economy was just terrible. Two, step out in faith that God had something more for my family and me. I chose option two. I started my own company. This is the same tenacity and perseverance that I will use in congressional debates and representing “the people”. I grew up in the Fort Worth and Weatherford area. I am the eldest of eight children born to Paul and Marti Latham. I attended public schools, private schools and was also homeschooled as a young man. This allows me to understand the different sacrifices and struggles that families encounter educating their children. I have worked for large corporations, average sized companies and small startups. I have worked in design, construction, manufacturing, engineering, customer service, management and sales capacities as well as dealing with the struggles of being a small business owner. I will use this wide range of experiences to relate the issues of “the people” to congress. I am ready to represent “the people”. My wife Kelli and I have five children. Because of this I have a real responsibility and determination to make sure our children can grow up in a country that still offers the opportunity to pursue God, happiness and the American dream.
